Web Site Planning

Like any project, a new Web Site requires a degree of planning and careful preparation. Consider the purpose to be served by the site, what are your objectives?

Points to Consider

  • Who are your target visitors
  • What, if anything, are you selling
  • What is your budget

Plan your content

Content in Web Site parlance is the wording that will appear on your Web Pages. Ideally, each Web Page should contain between 200 and 500 words. If you hope to receive visitors from search engines, consider two or three keyword phrases for each page. See our Search Engines page for a more in-depth explanation.

Identify Images and Logos

Pictures and Images can transform a Web Page and your company logo can reinforce your corporate identity. But as with all things, moderation is the order of the day. Too many graphics can make a page cluttered, slow to load and limit the available space for that all-important content.
